This week at HFC, Tyler Holloway opens John 12:1–11 to explore The Fragrant Life—a life devoted to Jesus in love and service. Through the contrasting responses to Jesus in this passage, we are invited to examine what shapes our own hearts: devotion to Christ or devotion to ourselves.

Tyler contrasts two ways of living: the fragrant life, purely devoted to Jesus in love for him and service to him, and the rancid life, devoted to oneself and one’s desires with no care for the Lord and his word. At the heart of the message is Jesus Christ, the fragrant offering for sinners, who brings the good news of the gospel and calls us to respond in faith.
